Diagnostics Made Simple was created by Daniel Natco, a highly skilled automotive diagnostician recognized for the speed and accuracy of his repairs. Daniel began his automotive career in 2000 working as a tire/lube technician for Goodyear. While at Goodyear, he took automotive classes at Cosumnes River College. He studied all the major areas of auto repair. Always questioning the other more experienced technicians, he often worked hand in hand with the Master Technician, learning from those who had greater knowledge and experience. In 2003 Daniel became a technician at Firestone Complete Auto Care, where he had the opportunity to gain experience with a wider variety of vehicle types and systems. At Firestone, he dealt with many other vehicle repairs besides tire and oil changes, becoming well versed in steering and suspension systems, brake systems, and also drivability and no start diagnostics. Firestone awarded him the Mastercare Award of Excellence for excellent customer service and repair efficiency, after he received some exceptionally positive feedback from his customers. When the Firestone shop he worked for shut down, he returned to Goodyear, and because of his additional experience, was placed as lead technician. Daniel ranked number two in productivity for Goodyear’s Northern California region.

In the course of his career, Daniel worked for several other automotive shops. Unfortunately, he discovered that many of them often took advantage of customers’ lack of knowledge and charged them for unneeded repairs, or took shortcuts that could compromise their safety. Knowledge is a customer’s best defense against such practices, but it is often difficult to come by. Seeing the need for useful, easy to understand auto repair information, he learned web development and created the Diagnostics Made Simple website, as a resource for both consumers and professionals.
